Limited # 25 of 30 expemplaires on Holland Van Gelder, numbered 1 to 30. Original wraps and title back-strip bound into a half calf with marbled boards binding. Binding by: Flammarion. Top page edges stained umber. Binding lightly worn, overall very good condition. Title and publication date in gilt on the spine. Spine lightly faded from red to umber. Lightly rubbed. Overall very good condition.

 Title translation: Disobey. Translated from English with a foreword by Leon Bazalgette.

Printed in November nineteen hundred and twenty and one by F. Paillart at Abbeville.

This is the first French translation, 1921. The original American edition of Thoreau’s Civil Disobedience was 1849.
